Popular celebrities including Scouting For Girls, Ozzy Osbourne and Ellie Goulding will be auctioning pairs of signed trainers to raise money for injured soldiers.
Scouting For Girls and Ozzy Osbourne are the latest celebrities to sign up for a Celebrity Trainer auction to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity. The charity supports injured soldiers returning from Afghanistan and hopes to develop a new military rehabilitation facility. This facility will assist military patients to cope with their injuries whilst creating a ‘home from home’ where they can relax with their families and fellow soldiers.
A special online public auction will open for bidding on Monday 24th May and will feature a signed collection including trainers from international tennis stars Elena Baltacha and Maria Sharapova and chart topping sensations Tinchy Stryder, Train, Scouting for Girls and Ellie Goulding. The auction will also include signed trainers from Live From Studio Five presenter Emma Willis and her ex-Busted husband Matt Willis as well as singer Gabriella Cilmi, Robyn and Beverley Knight.
Singer Ellie Goulding has designed a Nike LunarElite+ trainer the person with the highest bid will receive the signed trainer custom made in their size.
The auction is part of Birmingham- radio station BRMB’s campaign to ‘build a home for the brave in Birmingham’ which includes a twenty-six mile Walkathon taking place on Sunday 6th June. It is hoped that 10,000 people will take part in the BRMB Lookers Vauxhall Walkathon which is also being sponsored by the Midlands chocolate institution, Cadbury World.
Andy Price, Regional Marketing Manager at BRMB said:
“We’re delighted that so many regional and international celebrities have agreed to take part in this project and the calibre of those involved show the importance of helping fund these rehabilitation facilities. As an open public auction everyone will get the chance to bid for a pair of trainers decorated by some of their favourite celebrities whilst raising money to support such a worthy cause.”
